DC20 Conference Microphone, is part of the family of wireless hearing products known as the Digisystem, from Comfort Audio of Sweden. Comfort Audio are now owned by Phonak. This unit is a wireless microphone that provides a very high quality and clarity of sound for people with hearing loss. The multi functionality of the DC20 provides a person with a superb assistive hearing solution for school, college, university, employment and in everyday life situations. The microphone has four sound pick up settings.
The two omni directional settings, that gather sound over short or long distances, can be controlled manually and from distance by the user with the Remote Control (supplied). By utilising advanced digital technology the microphones functionality allows the user with hearing aids, cochlear implant or hard of hearing to adjust the sound quality they receive for themselves when used with their selected choice of the Digisystem DH10, DT20 or DM90 Receivers, even in challenging environments with disturbing background noise. As the system is modular an individual can select the microphone or microphones with the receiver that they require to make their own Comfort Digisystem.
The user can adjust the tone of sound they hear with the Treble and Bass menu control that allows coarse adjustment of the DC10 equaliser. There is also the Equaliser where you can fine tune the sound characteristics by changing the level over a range of frequencies from low to high. The gain can be increased or decreased at the mid-range frequencies 63 Hz, 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 4 kHz and 8 kHz.
This can be added to if their circumstances change. The microphone can be used for a whole working day without charging. There is a built in receiver that allows it to be used simultaneously with any of the other wireless microphones DC10, DM10, DM20, DM30, DM05 and DM90. The Remote Control allows the user to hear the sounds from both microphones simultaneously or to mute one microphone and listen only to the other. The DC20 can be easily connected to Mobile Phones via Bluetooth, DECT phones with Bluetooth and to a landline telephone via the Telelink. The Telelink is sold separately.
This conference microphone has a 3.5mm stereo socket that can be changed for use by using the menu to select from Line in, Microphone in or Headphone out. The Line in allows any audio input ranging from the audio output of a PC or Laptop to the SCART of a TV or the output of a PA amplifier or mixing desk. The DC20 transmitts the to the receiver being worn by the user.
