Phonaks Roger Pen is multifunctional wireless transmitting microphone that improves the listening experience for the hearing aid wearing user over distance and in noise. The Pen helps overcome the localised limitations of hearing aids.

This device has Bluetooth, to connect and use for your mobile phone conversations, and an audio input to connect to your TV, PC, laptop, MP3 and transmit the sound to the Roger Receiver you have. It can be used in a variety of settings including school, college and university. In the workplace for meetings, conversation, mobile and landline phone. Also socially for listening to the TV, music, conversation, mobile and landline telephone, out for dinner and travelling in a car. Landline telephone use requires an adaptor which is sold separately.

The Roger Pen has an automatic microphone mode where it will select for you, dependent on its physical position, one of the three microphone settings; interview style pointing, around the neck on the lanyard for a main speaker or conference style with omnidirectional sound pick up. The three microphone settings can be manually selected.

With a single short press of the On/Off button, the microphone can be muted regardless of being in automatic or manual mode. There is an LED that provides a visual indication of what setting the microphone is on, battery level and connection status. With the use of a Telephone Adapter, sold separately, the Roger Pen can be used for landline telephone use. The caller's voice is transmitted to you and you speak back to the caller using the telephone handset.

The Roger technology enables up to ten microphones to be used together. This includes Roger Select, Roger Pens, EasyPens, Clip-on-Mic and Roger Table Mic II.

The Pen can be used with any of the personal Roger Receivers. If you wear Phonak hearing aids the choice of receiver or receivers will depend on the model of your hearing aid. If you wear other manufacturer's hearing aids you can still use the Roger Pen but the choice of receiver will be dependant on the make and model of your hearing aid and limited to the Roger X or MyLink. People who have a Cochlear Implants also have options as Phonak designed the Roger 17 for use with Advanced Bionics Naida Q70 and Q90, Roger 20 for the Cochlear Nucleus 7 and Roger 21 for use with the ME-DEL Sonnet Processor.
